Hands down, they are the most storied franchise in all sports...if you asked some foreigner straight off the boat about American sports, the first team off their tongue would probably be "Da Yankees" or "Los Yankees" or some other form of the proper noun.
The guys are amazing, they work hard, and deserve the money they get paid. Its entertainment, and they are entertaining the largest market in sports. Why does it matter how much they get paid? I dont understand that part of it. There is NO salary cap, and if the owner wants to spend the money, then let him. Its the market, not the player. If they CAN make that much money by going to the best team and most historic franchise and play in the House that Ruth built, why the hell shouldnt they? Wouldnt you? Just cuz your from some city with a team that CANT spend as much doesnt mean you should ** about a team that CAN. Get over yourself and your team that "doesnt need to spend that kind of money" simply because they "CANT SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY"
