no, choking up helps you more..Grabbing above the metal thing makes for a faster swing but that's all you may also loose power.
When Will The Red Sox Win Another World Series?
noIt helps on everything. "choking up" basically makes the bat shorter which will increase bat speed and the chances of you hitting the ball. This will have a decrease in power, but is great for making contact. I highly recommend this.
Whats the difference between ST+20 alloy and MeC 35 alloy?
Not really. You have more control of the bat when you choke up on it. You just need to practice hitting fast pitches more. Go to a batting cage, if you have one in your area. Or, your team or school or legue, probably has one of those pitching machines. Make arrangements with your coach to stay late after practice and hit.Grabbing the bat a few cm away from the bottom of the bat will help on faster pitches. It gives you more control over the bat and are able to get through the zone faster. A lot players will do this once they have 2 strikes on them in order to have a more compact swing, which is easier to hit a bigger variety of pitches.
