There's this practice tool that looks like a large javelin with a ball on each end. The coach swings it towards a practicing batter, and the batter swings at it to make contact. It seems to really improve eye/hand coordination.

Try to have him shorten his swing, and just make contact. The power will come, but contact must come first. Look for stepping "in the bucket" too.Where at the yankees stadium is it best to sit with my 9 yr old son and be safe?
Your son reflexes are probably not that sharp and he reacts to slowly to fastballs. I suggest you train with him by throwing him lost of fastballs so he gets used to them and reacts faster. What catcher has stolen the most bases in MLB history?
Start slow, then start picking up speed gradually then hit youre top speed and keep throwing fast until he perfects it. Then pitch medium-fast heat so he can get a feel for other pitching styles. Good luck!!Have your son put his shirt in his moth closest to the pitcher, or a liter bat

As a former high school coach here are a few things to look for. If he is facing a faster pitcher, I would have him choke up on the bat in order to increase control and speed of the bat. Also watch for his hands dropping, his hands should go from his starting point, wherever that might be, straight to the ball. Never should his hands go from starting point, down, and then to the ball, this would decrease his speed to the ball. His reactions may be great, but to process all those steps before the ball gets there can be pretty difficult.Who went 11-1 in the 2005 playoffs?
If he is right handed, his right hand it above his left hand when he is holding the bat. His right hand is in the standard fist with his thumb above his other four fingers with his hand around the bat. If you place your right index finger above your thumb so that your thumb is between your index and middle fingers, you can turn your hands over faster. It feels akward as hell at first, but once you use it a few times it will feel natural. You don't have to change your grip to this full time, just when you need that extra bat speed. The major factor that determines bat speed is how fast you can turn your hands over. GIve it a try and you'll be suprised how much easier it is to turn your hands over. I read about this a long time ago when I was a kid, I believe it was either Ted Williams or Pete Rose.put him in a batting cage
