The NY Yankees. The fans feel that they are entitled to win each game. They are the most unforgiving group of people. They will tell you what a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan they are of the team, but have no clue who Craig Nettles is, and were no where to be found when the team absolutely stunk up the 80s by sitting in the AL East basement the whole decade.But that never stops them from getting in your face with the rings, the pinstripes, and the cocky "Your team sucks" rants...

Easily the Yankees since you have people who root for them just because they win and know nothing about the team or its history. Seems like when I like a team I want to know its history, past players, stats, etc so I can be a fan not just a fanatic. But a lot of people around the US and even the world seem to just like the Yankees because their own home town has no team or their home town team stinks. At least with my friends from NY who are Yankee fans they might be cocky about the team but they know the history from before Ruth was there and they go to multiple games a year there and around the country.The Cubs are for sale- who do you think is going to buy franchise?

It's the fact that New Yorkers in general are brash, arrogant beyond words and oblivious to anything or anyone else, and then you tack on a baseball team. That's how Yankees fans go beyond obnoxious to insufferable.
Boston is just plain jealous of the upstart folks down the coast in NYC. That jealousy pushes them to want to outdo NY and Yankee fans. Then, the two groups claim that it's the best rivalry in all of sports, when the truth is that it isn't even the best rivalry in North American sports. (Try Maple Leafs vs Canadiens, which dates back more than a thousand years, to the numerous English/French wars.)
