How can is stop myself from being nervous because i have a softball game today?


Question:I have a softball game and i get nervous every game:( How can i stop myself? I am always afraid i am going to do something wrong and mess up and my coach wants me to play infield but i am not comfortable. Some please help!! thanks

First off don't worry about making a mistake! NOBODY IS PERFECT! Major league players who get paid millions of dollars a year make stupid errors like dropping a routine fly ball or throwing the ball so far off target that you see the fans ducking for cover! LOL I pitched all my career up into college and semi-pro ball and I thrived on the pressure of coming in and closing the door! You have to have an attitude that nothing is going to beat you and if it happens you brush it off and think that that won't happen again and just keep going! I hate to say it but you have to have that feeling that you are the best there is and no one can beat you! I seem to play a little better when I was a little angry! LOL Get pissed but use it for constructive purposes and motivation! My teammates use to use ploys to get me riled by telling me that guys on the other team were talking smack and the best way to get even was to beat them! And in the infield just know the situation and nothing else! DON'T THINK ABOUT MAKING MISTAKES! If you do you will tense up and make them! Good luck and go kick some *** PLEASE!! Oh and one last thing HAVE FUN!

What are the best seats and second best seats for a red sox game against the yankees?

Confidence is probably the best way to get over this. I was a pitcher and left fielder through High School. One thing I did was play out situations in my head before the next pitch. IE. If I was playing outfield I would go through as many situations that could happen if I got the ball. "Guy on first, how many outs, where should I throw the ball, if I catch a fly or grounder.

One more thing. Square up to the ball and squat, squat, squat so it does not go under your glove.

Number one rule is to have fun. Just remember why you are playing softball. Relax your playing with 9 other girls who are out there for the same reason. Take your self to a happy place to take your mind off the game or coach to relax your nerves.Most important number one rule have fun.

Vision yourself making good plays. Maybe a diving stop and getting up and throwing out a fast runner. Think about the ways you can help the team..NOT hurt the team. Before every pitch think of the situation and if the ball is hit to you what do you have to do. This will give you some more confidence heading into the game. Also music always worked for me...(college soccer player) slap on the ipod before the game and get yourself pumped up a little bit. Also 2 nights before the game have a pasta dinner, that will give you more energy the night of the game. Have fun like the rest are telling you, but also make sure you are focused and ready for each and every play, especially on the infield.
