What was the longest home run you ever saw?
Question:The longest one I saw on tv was the night Mark McGwire hit one out of Dodger Stadium. I know Piazza did the same thing. The longest one I saw in person was at Three Rivers Stadium. When Bernard Gilkey was with the Cardinals in 1993 or 1994, he hit a ball that almost went out of the stadium. It landed about 15 rows up in the upper deck in right field.

Glenallen Hill of the Cubs hit a home run that landed on the rooftop of a building across Waveland Avenue behind the left field wall of Wrigley Field. It is believed that this is the only time a home run has landed on the roof of any building neighboring the outfield bleachers of this ballpark. I think the ball travelled over 430 feet. How many verses is the song "take me out to the ballgame" sung in each stadium?

Manny Ramirez against the BLUE Jays in the Skydome about 2/3 seasons ago. I think there was no official measurment cause balls didn't go that far. It was so deep in the upper deck it was ridiculous. What brand glove and model does Carlos Beltran wear, and where can I get one?
Mark McGwire hit the centerfield facade at the old Busch Stadium, about a 545 foot shot which is unreal! They put a big bandaid on the facade where the ball smashed an advertisement to commemmorate the event which was funny. Also, Adam Dunn 2 years ago hit a 520+ foot shot out of the new ballpark in Cincy that landed in the Ohio River. Why are the Mets soooo much better than the Yankees, and forget the 26 World championships.?
I saw Mo Vaughn's and Dennis Eckersly's last game in a Red Sox uniform. Eck gave up a home-run to Jose Canseco that just cleared the CF wall but was still going upward when it hit the seats. I mean, it took, literally, a 1/2 second to get out.Any softball chants out there?
The 1995 All Star Game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Griffey Jr hit the warehouse in right field during the home run derby, the only player ever to do so. The warehouse is almost 450 feet from home plate, and it hit about 10 feet above the ground.Who will be the AL MVP this year?!?
The longest on i've seen was Bo Jackson hitting one an estimated 475 feet out of Royals Stadium. I don't remember the year but it was around 1987 or so. The only thing that kept it in the stadium was a chainlink fence that runs behind the scoreboard. To this day its the longest homerun ever hit there. What does evrybody think of Phillip Hughes throwing a no hitter last night?
The longest HR I ever witnessed in person ,not on TV was at Busch Stadium II,Rodger Freed hit a ball that hit the plexi-glass windows in the Stadium Clubs,I swear that we thought the glass was gonna fall right out of the frame. If there wouldn't have been anything in that balls way it would still be going,I mean this ball was smoked it hit that glass so hard, I'm talking line drive, not a high pop fly.I believe Mr Freed only hit like 50-60 HR's in his career, that ball you could of hung your laundry on it.I remember it like it was yesterday and it was in the late 70's or early 80's
Have relievers ever won MVP awards?
It's not the longest one I've ever seen, but the one Wily Mo Pena hit off Luke Hudson last year in KC was pounded. They ask Hudson about it after the game and he said "it should have counted for two"
A-Rod hits number 15 on the year?
The longest one I saw on TV live was Lance Parrish (Tigers) at the Metrodome against the Twins in the mid 80s. George Kell's call (in his Ozark twang) was "Goodnight Irene!" shortly after it left his bat. It must have been about forty rows up in left center field. In person I would guess it was Willie Mays Aikens (Royals) against the Tigers in 1979. It reached the upper bleachers in centerfield at Tiger Stadium.
