Arizona Diamondbacks?

Question:The D-backs, in their new uniforms, are off to a very solid 6-2 start. They have a very young team and are looking pretty good. What do you guys think is in store for the D-Backs this season?

Answers:

Is it possible for a home team to get more than 1 run at the bottom of the ninth inning with the game tied?

They are off to a hot start and consider this, they are playing without 2 of their starting OF's right now and have Eric Byrnes in CF (typically a LF) and still doing very well, also Randy Johnson is still on the DL and should be back very soon which is always a plus. Then you have the fact that Jason Schmidt for the Dodgers just got hurt which could work to the DBacks benefit considering they are in the same division. I think the DBacks are an extremely talented team with a "ceiling" as high as anyone in baseball. I still think the Dodgers are going to win this division though with all the talent and proven stars they have on the club right now, and that pitching staff of theirs is absolutely unreal. The DBacks will give them a hell of a race and they will def. contend for a Wild Card as well, but the NL East is stacked and either the Mets, Braves, or Phillies (prolly Braves) will win the Wild Card and i think the DBacks will miss the playoffs, but def. not b/c a lack of talent. In 2-3 years this team will be UNREAL (taking into account they continue to progress) and will be a playoff contender for years to come. Brandon Webb a top 10 pitcher in baseball anchoring that staff, Orlando Hudson and Stephen Drew playing GREAT defense up the middle, Chad Tracy giving some power to that offense, things are looking really good for the DBacks.

Has anyone ever hit a baseball hard enough to take the cover off?

I really hope they do well this year. I hope they stay strong & don't get "big headed" or nervous as the season progresses. I don't think it has anything to do with the new uniforms, but I must say they look great! I like them much better than the purple (ick).

1984 mets tv?

They will be competitive in the West. I think they are a year or two away from winning the West, but who knows. They'll have to perform very well this year to get past the Dodgers

Who's the home run king?

i think they're doing great, but i wouldn't know what might happen to them till the end of the season.

Name of last major league baseball player to win MVP that was a switch hitter?

I think that if Randy Johnson comes back healthy this year, the D'Backs have a very solid rotation with Brandon Webb, Livan Hernandez, Micah Owings and Doug Davis.

Their bulpen is decent, but will likely blow some games for them without a bonafide closer.

Offensively, they've got some intriguing young players, with Steven Drew, Conor Jackson and Chad Tracy.

If the stars align just right, they could win their division... but given the strength of the NL East this year, the Wild Card is out of the question.

If they want to see the post season, they have to win the division.

A more realistic goal for them this year would be to finish a few games over .500 and get themselves on track for 2008, when they can be SERIOUS contenders.

How many Cy Young Awards have been won by Toronto Blue Jays pitchers?

well I think the dodgers will win the division, but the D-Backs might be able to win the wild card, they have a legitimate shot at it. But like 2 years ago the dodgers started 12-2 and didnt make the playoffs soo. time will tell.

Of all the Red Sox acquisitions this offseason, has Hideki Okajima proven the most pleasantly surprising?

It's all gonna come down to their pitching staff. If they can pitch as effectively as they are pitching now all season long then hey the Arizona Diamondbacks might be able to win their divison.
