Question:but why doesn't he get the treatment that other drunk drivers get when they cause a death or a wreck? I mean he could have easily killed others by the way he was behaving and driving. I dont think ESPN and other sport broadcasting companies have recognized that he was a DRUNK DRIVER who was being irresponsible. In my opinion.while he was a great pitcher and an honorable athlete, HE is not a hero nor should he be remembered as a hero. I dont understand the hipocracy of the media.

I agree with you, they also found marijuna in his car. If it was someone other than a MLB player he would be looked at as a horrible person. I'm not saying that he wasn't a great guy or anything but when you kill yourself while drinking and driving I don't really know how to react to it. He did this to himself, he was nothing but another DUI that went bad.I lost a friend about 4 months ago from a DUI. He got drunk and drove home when he should not have. So at 4 am I had to get a call that I just lost a good friend, and if I had been there there was no chance he was driving home. Every time I think about it I get so mad at him for how selfish and stupid he was that night. But that doesn't mean I miss him any less. Anytime I hear about people joking around about drinking and driving I want to punch them in the face because its not funny, and eventually tragic things are going to happen to them. JH dying was a shock to everyone, but I can't beleive that the Cardinals arn't mad at him for making that decision. He is lucky he only hurt himself

They are not glorifying him for drinking, but they are honoring his life. Whenever someone dies it's sad no matter how it happens. I don't think anyone is trying to say he is a hero or role model for his partying. The memorials and all the things done to honor him are in a large part for those who were close to him. They lost a friend and the media is trying to make it easier for them, not condone drunk driving.What would you like to see in baseball?
I thank God that he only killed himself, not some family coming home from a night out. He was selfish, took the wheel drunk, stoned and on the phone. He is no role model. I think alot of it with the sports world has to do with the media concerning the organizations themselves. Walt Jocketty , the GM of the Cardinals, said that the St Louis Cardinals were not responsible for the actions of the players off the field. They are grown men with consequences of what happens when they make wrong choices. Alot of this media "goodness" I feel was for the family and the Cardinals, we know when someone hits the big time, all private issues are made public. As a Cardinal fan, I was saddened by this death but also know that there is alot more to heroism than throwing a baseball. To me it is being a example to the younger generation and unfortunately Josh made some bad choices that maybe someone will learn from. This also was quoted by some the Cardinal players themselves.Is Barry Bonds Using steroids or not?
