There is speculation that the Giants will listen to offers for Barry Bonds if he breaks the all-time home-ru?

Question:What is the point in trading him After he breaks the record? Other than more teams will offer more money for him?

Answers:

Are all baseball players this disgusting?

The only offer I can envision would be Steinbrenner trying to "retire" him in a Yankees uniform. I also don't think his value would increase. Once he breaks the record, what is the draw? Then he becomes 100% distraction to your team..

Why don't we add extra players if a baseball game goes into extra innings?

They want to hold him until he breaks it so they can cash in on him. If theres a chance he does it at home, there will be a record crowd and thats just means more money for them.

I have a smaller card that has Honus Wagner's picture info about 1910 Tobacco card on back . Any value?

I don't quite understand why you would trade him if he does break the HR record, I mean why? He's in his 40s, in the midst of steroid allegations, he might be indicted, and nobody but Giant fans and their teammates will applaud when he does get there. You know no one cares, when Hank Aaron or Bud Selig the commissioner of baseball won't bother showing up.

If he does get close to breaking it, I hope it's on the road. Because I could just imagine the millions of boos and taunts he gets on the road. They love him at home, nearly everyone doesn't like him because of how he acts and the things he's done.

Here's a race to watch, what will happen first? Him getting indicted on steroid charges or surpassing Aaron as the new HR record leader.

WHAT, OF aNY WORtH ever CAME OUT OF BOSTON?

First of all, even if Barry Bonds didn't have a no-trade clause in his contract (which he does), as a 5yr./10yr. man (5 years with the Giants and 10 years in MLB), he has the right to veto any trade. Secondly, the Giants are using Bonds as their cash-cow, in other words, they can be sure to cash in on Bonds' breaking of Aaron's home run record. They only signed him to help themselves financially. I think they are aware that his only value to the team is if/when the record becomes his. After this year, the money will come in handy when S.F. has to basically start from scratch and rebuild the team.

Which MLB team will finish DEAD LAST?

This doesn't make any sense. As soon as Barry Bonds breaks the all time home runs record he will be done. That he will be his last Major League game. He can spend the rest of his life rubbing it in Bug Selig's face. (Not a typo.)

Barry Bonds achievements are no longer worth celebrating.
He was on steroids people !

Knocking a ball out of a park is no longer awe inspiring. It's a shame what players have done to a proud sport.

Did Babe Ruth need steroids ? Hank Aaron ? Jackie Robinson ?

Barry, should retire while he's still got some dignity left.

What is the fastest team to win 100 games and same thing for losses?

I've heard from more then one source that a straight trade of Bonds for A-Rod may go through after Bonds breaks the record. The Giants know a cash cow when they see one and Bonds is big cash whether he breaks the record or not. But he's healthier then he's been in years and many AL teams would love to have him as their DH. The Yankees included.

After he breaks the record, which I hope he doesn't, no one would want him. He is done.

How many innings can a baseball game go on for?

I doubt anyone wants him. I can't believe the Giants paid 16mil for him. But as he get closer to the record he will fill the seats.

But I think the ARod for Bonds trade sounds intriging.

Does anybody think that the dodgers could go to the world series?

It seems reasonable to me. After all, the Giants are not expected to be any good this year. After the HR record is "broken", Bonds' value to the franchise is over.

Better they trade him to an AL team that needs a DH and gets some prospects then to keep on and keep paying a man disliked by most baseball fans.

Is jason schmit damaged goods?

They want him to break the record in a Giants uniform. They've stood by him this long, for all the garbage he's put them through. It's a major accomplishment, even tainted, to break Aaron's record, and they want it to be a Giant who does it.

Once he's done it, they'll be more than willing and eager to get rid of him and start moving foward as a team.

It's about time the circus left San Francisco.
