Who are some of the most famous Ex-Texas Rangers? (Baseball)?
Question:Sammy Sosa, Araon Sealy, Curt Schilling
Answers:
What active ballplayer do you think is the best all around hitter playing today?
Sammy Sosa is a current and former Ranger. As noted below, Nolan Ryan, Buddy Bell, Rafael Palmeiro, Jose Canseco, Harold Baines, Ruben Sierra, Juan Gonzalez, Alfonso Soriano, Alex Rodriguez, and Ivan Rodriguez are probably the best over the years.
I would add DH Jeff Burroughs (1973-76), who averaged 25 HR's per season as a Ranger and won the 1974 AL MVP award. 1B Will Clark played from 1993-98 with the Rangers, 1B/DH Andres Galarraga played 72 games for the Rangers in 2001. 1B Pete Incaviglia was a Rangers favorite from 1986-90.
I would also add Hall-Of-Fame pitchers Ferguson Jenkins, Gaylord Perry and Rich "Goose" Gossage to the list, as well as pitchers Charlie Hough, Kevin Brown, Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd, Sparky Lyle, Kenny Rogers, Dave Stewart, John Rocker, Ugueth Urbina, John Wetteland and Tom Henke.
And there's some ex-Washington Senators like former 30-game winner Denny McLain, and infielder Don Zimmer, who went on to be a famous Yankees bench coach that got mauled by Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez.
Nolan Ryan. hall of famer, cy young award winner, all-time strikeouet king, 300+ wins. enough said.
Alphonso Soriano, Alex Rodriguez, Ivan Rodriguez, Juan Gonzales, Harold Baines, Buddy Bell, Rafael Palmiero, Jose Canseco, Reuben Sierra, Kenny Rogers, Nolan Ryan...
Pretty amazing team you could make of that bunch.
If the catcher throws the ball back over the pitcher's head, can the batter go to first?
Schilling never played for the Rangers. He did play with the Astros for a year, though. For managers, you've got Ted Williams or Billy Martin. If you need an owner, there's George W. Bush.
