Whats your views on Barry Bonds?
Question:as a player, person, and as a controversial figure.
Answers:
How did the yankees score their first 3 runs?
As a player he is a cheater. As a person he is a liar. As a controversial figure he is a coward. What else would you can someone who willingly lets someone else (Greg Anderson) do his jail time for him?Bonds is not worthy of hall of fame status and I can only hope that baseball does the right thing and banned him from the game. He belongs in jail.
Ty Cobb-greatest player of all time in any league.?
Lets just say I avoided drafting him in my fantasy league because my will for him to break his leg is just too strong.Going out for baseball next season?
OVER RATED.Whats a good baseball card pricing site?
Barry Bonds is showing us how classy and talented Henry Aaron really was as a player and person .Jake Peavy 2007 = Johan Santana 2006?
The man was one of the most talented players of his day. He had Hall of Fame stats. But, he also has an ego that is larger than it should be. He saw the fame McGwire and Sosa were getting and got jealous and obviously took something to bulk up so quickly. Now there are writers who will not vote for him to be in the Hall of Fame and I don't blame them.He is a lousy teammate. He doesn't ride the team bus, he takes a limo. He appears to be more interested in his stats than winning games.
I am one of the people who feel the Hall of Fame would be diminished if he gets in. I also believe that if he passes Aaron, that record will be meaningless.
By the way, don't assume people who dislike Bonds are racists, like Koalafamily2 whose answer follows mine insinuates, in a rather classless move I might add. How is it racism for me to think Bonds is classless and Aaron classy? What is the difference in their races? I thought Bobby Bonds was a tremendous athlete and role model. Not so much his son Barry. Are they not both the same race?
I thought John Rocker was an idiot. Does that make me a racist against whites? I don't care at all for Hugo Chavez. Does that make me a anti-Hispanic racist? Why is it so easy for you to throw out that racism word as almost an afterthought? Race has nothing to do with it. I gave instances of where I thought his character was subpar. That has nothing to do with race.
I am just wondering. Suppose I didn't like Sammie Davis Jr. Would that make me a racist against blacks or Jews? I am confused.
Is this a good softball bat for my boyfriend?
Player - Best offense producing outfielder to ever play the position. His defense eroded, but still is an asset to the Giants.Person - Not a "snob", A__hole or negative person. I saw him every week while working at EA Sports because he visited his business partners' brother that worked there frequently. He never acted like a primadonna or like he was above the law. Very intelligent and courteous. It was the media and less intelligent fans that believed that he did not like them.
Controversy - Has followed him since leaving the Pirates. Never fails with high profile celebrities and athletes. Only thing that bugged me was his growth hormone use. Steroids will not give you that "edge" to constantly break records or perform like superman. Only "banned" performance enhancing substances, of which no positive tests have been linked to Barry.
Not sure why the public is into name calling when it comes to Barry. Jealousy? People wishing they could earn as much as he can? Racism?
Can Barry Bonds Get To 755 Home This Year?
He is selfish and he cheated in baseball. Was trading Kaz the wrong move?
One of the best eyes for the strike zone and one of the quickest swings in the game. You can't tell me steroids gave him that. I respect the guy and would still consider him for the hall of fame.Found a bill buckner firstbaseman glove at garage sale.wonder if it would ever be worth anything?
With or without the steroids, still one of the top 5 players to ever play the game. His numbers are just sick. 700 HR's, 500 SB's, 2 batting titles, 7 gold gloves, 7 MVP awards. As a person, he leaves a lot to be desired. He is very standoffish and almost "bitchy" for lack of a better word. Never signs autographs, never acknowledges the fans at all and he was like this long before all the steroid crap came about. But like him or not, he's the man in terms of baseball players from the last 30 years and he will break Aaron's record this season, probably before the 1st of August.
Can a pitcher switch from left to right handed in a game?
i am a Giants fanand a Bonds fan
i usually get criticized because of it but hey you got to stay true to your team and players...right?
i personally think he is one of the BEST baseball players as of right now
he will break Aarons record whether people like it or not...so deal
i know EVERY ONE in SF will be cheering even if its only us cheering
he is nice to the fans that support him...i have seen him give autographs...
and just to get this off my chest..
OF COURSE HE IS NOT GOING TO BE NICE TO THE PEOPLE WHO GIVE HIM * EVERY DAY OF HIS LIFE!
lay off him...please
if not for him for us, Giants fans, this is something we have invested in for how many years now? we deserve it!
and he is LOYAL
yes Barry Bonds is loyal
i mean look...he did not have to stay in SF he could have gone to an AL team...how much easier would that have been for him? but he stayed and quote Barry himself,
"This is where I've always wanted to play. This is where I've always been comfortable playing. San Francisco is what I love. The people in San Francisco are who I love. There's no better place to play than in San Francisco. This is my history and the people in San Francisco deserve it all."
also, its not just Bonds who has supposedly taken something...attention is on him just because he is going to BREAK THE RECORD!
the guy deserves a break
stop hating and let him PLAY THE GAME!
all you have to do it ignore and let his true fans, in SF, honor him and route for him
you do not have to do ANYTHING in Bonds name or even pay attention to what he is doing...
so my question is..why do YOU care?
Why is Hank AAron acting like a bitter old man about attending a monumental moment in baseball?
I think he has been used as the fall-guy for the widespread use of steroids in the sport. MLB is all too happy to point fingers at him in order to distract us from the fact that much of the outburst in run production that has drawn new fans to the sport was fueled by an illegal substance.Since Bonds has a relatively bristly persona (though he is hardly alone on this count), and is pursuing a major all-time record, it is easier to make him the fall guy than it is to reconcile our opposition to steroids with our willingness to put our heads in the sand.
If we are going to question his pursuit of Aaron's record, then we must question virtually every statistic of the last 15 years.
