Did the Major Leagues ever allow metal bats, and if so, what year were they banned?
Question:I am doing an essay on metal vs wood bats for baseball.
Long story short, I had my essay done, but using floppy disks wasn't such a good idea, and now I can't re-find my information very well. Essay due Wednesday. A reliable internet source would be appreciated.

metal bats where never allowed, the go too far if you hit with them, and hit faster line drives. Sorry, i couldn't find an internet source.They've never allowed anything but wooden bats.
I don't know if there's an Internet site, but the first edition of the book "Total Baseball" includes a section on the history of rules changes in baseball. Yes, that means a trip to a library. They still exist.
