How early should I get to the game to catch all of batting practice?
Just be confident in yourself and just do your best, use your hips and legs, not just you arms, then you'll be hitting them out of here in no-time!Slumps happen... And more often than not it is head games that you play with yourself that cause you to stay in a slump. Priority one, forget about killing the ball. Concentrate on making contact. Also place the bat in your fingers and don't totally grip the bat until you come to the point of contact. (This is something that is easier to show than explain). And relax. Relax the bat. Relax your hands. And relax your mind. Hitting is one of the funnest things I ever did. Don't think too much about it and keep it fun.
One small tip. To ensure you relax and get your hands in proper position, you may want to rest the bat on your shoulder until you are ready to get into launch position. Then tap your bat on your shoulder. Your hands should be in proper position at that point. (Again something easier to show that to explain). Good luck, and become a .400 hitter, not just a power hitter.
Pete Rose or the Steroid Issue in Baseball. Which do you think has done the most damage to MLB?
What's happened is the curse of your own success.Compare how you are swinging NOW with what you were doing when you were "killing" the ball. I bet you are now overstriding and swinging too hard while trying to recapture your early magic.
Get back into a more relaxed stance and concentrate on making contact NOT "killing" the ball.
Try to hit the ball up the middle and the opposite way. Once you can slow down your swing you will be able to swing the bat with more confidence. Make sure you have a good base with your feet. Start them about shoulder width. Stride toward the mound as you swing. You will feel balanced.
Why does baseball have a dugout?
well pullin everything isnt that bad. as a high school player i know that alot of coaches like to see u pull the ball. I am a lefty batter and we tend to be natural pull hitters. I cant really tell u wat to do unless i see wat u r doin but if u dont always want to pull the ball maybe u should try not to twist ur upperbody too much trying to drive the ball and u might also want to adjust ur timing of your load step before u swing in corelation to when u see the pitcher ready to pitchMore Questions & Answers...
