i have no doubt that it is Pete Rose. He is one of the best players of all time. The hall is not supposed to be about who the best man is... it is about performing, and this guy performed. He played in 1,962 winning games with the big red machine (thats amazing). Has the most hits out of any player to ever play the game. over 4,000!! Only two men who have ever played the game have 4,000 hits, Pete Rose and Ty Cobb. His 4,256 hits is almost 1,400 more hits than Babe Ruth. Career .300 hitter who had an absolutely brilliant career. He is not in the hall because of a character issue which is not what the hall is about!

Dale Murphy is one of the most underrated players and should definitely be inducted. If I ever had kids, this is the kind of player and person that I would want my kids to emulate. Andre Dawson fits the same mold, both were great players who always gave 110% and were "good" guys.I would much rather have them in the hall than the ego centric players or those who don't think the rules apply to them.
Without a doubt, Pete Rose. There are people in the Hall who have taken a bat to someone's head (Juan Marichal), cocaine possession (Fergie Jenkins, banned for life but later reinstated), admitted cheaters (Gaylord Perry and his doctored baseballs), and Ty Cobb went into the stands and beat up a fan - a crippled fan at that! This is the BASEBALL hall of fame, and Rose was a great BASEBALL player. Put him in!

Now this is a good question. The obvious answer is Pete Rose. He is one of the best 25 players to ever play the game. He is the all time hits leader. Rookie of the year in 63. 17 time all-star. Second longest hitting streak ever of 44 games. Wins a couple of gold gloves and an MVP. And he may have been the grittiest player to play the game. There are so many lesser players than him in the Hall. So no brainer with him.But one that should be mentioned that has been on the fence is Andre Dawson. He is the best player not in the Hall of Fame that has been kept by the voting process. He is a career .280 hitter. He is one of three players to hit 400 HR (438) and steal 300 bases (314). He has over 1500 RBIs. Rookie of the Year in 77. NL MVP in 87 and finished second in the voting in 81 and 83. And in his prime, he was the best defensive outfielder in the game winning 8 gold gloves. And his arm was incredible. If his knees hadn't have given out on him, those numbers would have been even more impressive. The only reason he is not in the Hall is because he played in obscurity in Montreal, and then for the losing Cubs organization, although they did make a run once with him.
