How bad are the Phillies?

They are actually a pretty decent team. What they need is a manager who doesn't have his head up his butt. They have a good hitting lineup and are capable of scoring 900 runs this year. They are light on pitching but I'm sure they will pick up someone either through free agency signing or through a trade. I like the Phillies a great deal.What does the stats WHIP, BB, and BAA in baseball mean?
Probably not that bad. They always seem to start off slow and then they play better as the season goes. I'd be shocked if they don't finish close to .500.A-Rod on track for like 130 something !! How many you think he'll hit ??
Even after this horrid start, and with Ryan Howard not hitting a lick, the Phils are only 4 games out of first. Once Howard starts hitting like Howard, it'll be all over for the rest of the NL East.They will be as bad as their bullpen is, which at present is not a good one. They typically lose close games in the later innings, because the bullpen cannot hold a lead. They reallly messed up when they let Billy Wagner sign with the Mets. In other areas they are quite good, but if you cannot close games, you lose. So they are bad, right now, their record is below .500, until they get above it, they have to be considered bad. You are what your record says you are (Bill Parcells, but equally applicable to baseball).
