We will have to see how the season pans out. Of course everyone will say thier favorite team, mine being the Seattle Mariners. But it's too hard to predict that outcome on the first official day of the season. I really hope that the Mariners make it, we have some amazing new kids coming up and the older guys to coach them on.angels

First, my favorite team is the Giants. But I think the Mets will win the world series this year. That offense combined with a good defense is hard to beat. Pitching will be a little shaky this year with Pedro out until July, but I think they can carry the team until then.I think my giants have a shot of surprising people and making the playoffs this year but I doubt we'll go far if we do make it.

Well being as it's the second day of the season it's really hard to tell, but Sports Illustrated picks the Angels over the Dodgers. I say that both of those teams will make the playoffs but won't win the series. The teams I think that have legitimate shot at winning the whole thing are unfortunately the Yankees, Twins, Mets and Tigers, but I can only see the Twins really going all the way with the pitching they have in Santana and Nathan along with the reigning AL MVP in Mourneau plus batting champ in Mauer. I'd say they have a great shot at it this yr, but since everyone hasn't really picked a sleeper 2 NL teams you should watch 4 are the Braves and Reds. The Braves coming off a sub-par season where they didn't win the NL East are a much improved team this yr and could pose a serious threat to dethroning the Mets. The Reds if they can solidify there pitching have one of the most prolific line-ups top to bottom in the MLB, they may not be a potent as the Yanks but with Griffey, Dunn Freel to name a few and with the resurgence of Josh Hamilton this could be the yr that the Reds surprise a lot of teams and make the playoffs by possibly winning the divisions. The Red Sox will win the world series in 2007. They have one of the best trio of starters in baseball (schilling,matsuzaka,beckett). Their offense is stellar 1-9, including Dustin Pedroia who is a Rookie of the Year Favorite. Their weakest point is their bullpen, which on paper looks good...papelbon,okajima, pinero, timlin...but has proven to be shakey or injury prone. They have many guys who are notorious for being injured such as Papelbon and J.D. drew, but if everyone stays healthy they can pull off another win before all of the vetrans retire
