Its not Torre's fault. Its their pitching. They have the second lowest average for innings pitched by starters. So their bullpen gets the second most work. And of their entire pitching staff only Andy Pettite has been consistant.And if they did fire him they have a few options. Don Mattingly, Joe Girardi, Larry Bowa, Tony Pena, and Dusty Baker to name a few.

I think that the value of coaching (especially in professional level) is overrate nowdays. If something goes wrong, it is all about manager. They lost 7 games straight, B/C they (players) stink. or it's just 'that time of a year'. When u play 162 games per year, everybody go through something like this. ,,,so ,,to solve this problem they need to get their picthers back. I have to agree with Yankee's captain Derek Jeter on this one, "Joe Torre can't hit for us, pitch for us, or play defense for us. It isn't his fault that we aren't performing the way we should."Torre is probably one of the best managers in baseball right now. The Yankees need to try two things called pitching and defense if they want to win. Scoring ten runs a game doesn't matter if you allow eleven. The Yankees are also plagued with injuries to their starting rotation right now. It is hard to play good baseball when you best two or three starters are hurt and your closer is not playing well. This team should be thanking God that they have A-Rod. Without his bat, you could probably call the Yankees season over right now.

as much as yankee fans might want a scapegoat for the team's poor start, the worst possible thing they can do is fire torre...he keeps all the big egos and superstar players in line in the locker room and helps them develop a chemistry even though they usually are becoming role players after being superstars on their previous teamthe reason for the yankees' slow start is simply poor pitching, and on top of that injuries to the staff...when they get their starting rotation healthy, they'll be able to give their bullpen some rest and they will start improving also, and the yanks will be in it in september like they always are

Joe Torre is most definitely not being fired or pushed out of ny in any sense whatsoever. The rumors will continue to go on and on but in the end theyre all jsut rumors. The same rumors were going around during the 1996 season when the yankees were doing very poorly and everyone was saying that Joe Torre will get fired. In the end, Joe Torre led the yankees to a world series victory, one of the most memorable yankees victories in history. The problems occuring now are not that of Joe Torre, they are problems with injuries on the pitching staff. Once the yanks get good pitching they will succeed in making the playoffs in the long run as they have in the past.P.S.just a little fun fact, during the 1996 season, Frank Torre, Joe's brother, was getting a heart transplant in order to live longer, ironically, he is getting a transplant again during this season, this time a kidney, could it be a sign for better things to come since this is a remnance of the 1996 season?..idk..but it sure is ironic
Joe Torre is a great manager and it would be the stupidest thing steinbrener has ever done to fire him. The Yankees may not have made to the world series in a while but he has got them to the playoffs for more than the majority of the time he has been there. If steinbrener wants to blame someone he should blame himself for hiring so many washed up pitchers.

If they fire him it will be a huge mistake. He's one of the best skippers the Yankees have ever had and one of the best managers. I will be most unhappy if Joe gets the axe for something that's not his fault and getting fired would be the thanks he gets for turning what was a terrible club into champions again. BTW, Torre didn't have have mega-talent on all his teams. What he did have was players that can come through when it mattered most.
