Should Arod Stay On The Yankees?

by the time nathan came on the ninth to pitch the twins had a four run lead...
to qualify for a save you have to be leading by no more than 3 runs.
however, if a pitcher before nathan came on the nith to pirch and put a man on base with no one out, than nathan would qualify because the possibility of the tying run coming to the plate...
each out is considered a "possible run"...
think of the three men coming to the plate is 3 runs there, and the one on base (assuming in my previous example) would make 4, thus tying the game if they scored...

but since twins were up 4 runs...
the three batters coming to the plate are not considered a threat to tie the game...

Saves:
Rule 10.20 in the Official Rule Book states:
Credit a pitcher with a save when he meets all three of the following conditions:
(1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and
(2) He is not the winning pitcher; and
(3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions:
- (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or
- (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces; or
- (c) He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game.

The "Hold":

Do you think that Roberto Clemente's number should be retired?

Just looking at the box, it appears that Nathan entered the game with one out and a three run lead. If he would've started the inning with a three run lead he would qualify (but it was a four run lead so it wasn't a save situation.)

When Nathan entered the game, the tying run would need to be on deck to qualify to qualify, but there were no base runners on when he did enter.

Mlb 07 the game?

He would have to pitch a full inning with a 3 run lead (or less)or enter the game with the tying run on deck(or on base).neither was the case

What is the rivalry record between the San Francisco Giants and the LA Dodgers?

Nathan entered with a three run lead but only two potential runs, not enough to relinquish the lead (for the save situation, only runners and batters as far as the on-deck hitter count). So the lead was too large for the save situation to be in effect.
