I heard they only put him on the DL for extra rest before the season. I don't know how much crap their feeding in that line but they said he'll be back with the team in a couple of weeks. If he comes back and can pitch the rest of the year, certainly not a mistake - his pitches are just filthy. I figure by the end of May the Rangers will know if this was a good or bad deal.Does anyone think the New York Yankees are already done?

Time will tell. Closers are always risky and injury-prone because of how hard they throw. Some have short shelf lives because if their injury lingers, their stuff isn't as effective and that's what makes for the difference between good closers and bad ones. Gagne's only supposed to be out for a few weeks so time will tell once he's back. It was a bit of a gamble on the Rangers' part to pick up Gagne, who they knew beforehand had these injury problems. I agree with frenchy; it was a calculated gamble. They knew about his injury history, but they also knew what a big upside he has. Because of his immense talent, they decided to take the risk, and I think it was a good one.More Questions & Answers...
