Will Don Mattingly replace Joe Torre next year?
Question:I heard rumors that he will. Do you think he'll be a good manager?
Answers:
What is wrong with Steinbrenner et al?
I doubt it. Steinbrenner is always saying stuff that makes people wonder if Joe Torre and Brian Cashman will be fired. They never are. The Yankees will come around. They always do. That is what makes them so great. Don Mattingly should make a great manager but I think give him a few more years. He may be groomed to replace Joe if he retires but I don't see that happening within a year. What is the circumference of a major league baseball?
Don is great guy don't get me wrong. But Joe Torre is a much better manager. If they do, it will be to there own undoing. It may boost ticket sales a bunch though. But I don't think a new manager will do it. Their problems are much deeper than the manager.Barry bonds and Adrian Beltre for Miguel Cabrera. Is that a good deal?
HE SHOULD CHANGE HIM SINCE HE HAS BEING LACKING UP FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS.. BUT I DONT THINK THAT ANY OTHER MANAGER CAN ACTUALLY MANAGE THE TEAM LIKE HE CAN.. HE SHOULD BE MORE FOCUS ON CHANGING PEOPLE ON THE TEAM AND GETTING BETTER PITCHER`S WHICH IS WHERE WE HAVE THE MOST PROBLEMS...Who is the closing pitcher for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays?
It's a good bet that if anyone does replace Joe it will be Donny "Baseball". I'd like to think that Joe will still be around for a few more years but with all the problems the Yankees have right now he might think he's had enough.Until the pitching gets squared away the Yankees won't reach their full potential. They have the best hitting lineup in baseball but people can't expect them to continue to win those 9-8 kind of games every night.
