Every one is predicting the Yankees are going to be terrible this year?

The Sinker is gripped with your index and middle finger along the seams. The thumb is placed in the 6 o'clock position under the ball. It is an effective pitch and should give you more ground balls, but it is a slower pitch, so you'll lose some velocity. If you leave one up in the strike zone, it's more likely to get mashed.

The Cut Fastball is almost identical to a four-seam fastball, but with the thumb moved from the 6 o'clock position into and the index and middle finger moved slightly down the sides. It is difficult for a hitter to distinguish from a four-seam fastball, and the late break helps keep hitters from getting good wood on it.

Do you think that the Boston Red Sox can Get to the ALCS this year?

also, a two seam fast ball, putting more pressure on either finger (left or right seam) will give it some movement
