Are you happy that for the first time ever the baseball draft will be televised?

Question:I think it's cool that they are doing that

Answers:

Who is the best all around player in the National League?

I can't say that I'm happy for it to be telivised. I hope the whole thing isn't televised though...Do you know there's up to 50 rounds in the MLB draft.

Also, high school and college baseball doesn't get as much coverage as college football or basketball and more recent high school basketball. I would bet that 95% of the world won't know a single person drafted until they research the name or stats (like I do for players drafted for the Tigers).

But, we'll never know how successful it is until it's tried. I hope it does well. I'll probably watch it for a little bit just see how it goes.

Why in MLB do the managers come to the game in uniform?

I think it will be boring because many of the prospects drafted probaly will be in the minor leagues for some time or possibly not even sign with their teams. Many are high school kids who go to college and teams just draft their rights. Others end up in the minors for a while and are traded as prospects. Only a select few will jump to the majors, so I think that while it may be cool, it will ultimately prove to be a waste of time. High school and college baseball aren't as major sports as college and high school football and basketball, so their draft will also be less intersting

Has anyone met Barry Zito, or know him personally?

I don't think it really matters all that much. The MLB draft is different than the NBA and NFL. There are so many high schoolers drafted and even the college kids are mostly unknown to the average sports fan. They don't have a dedicated following at the lower levels to garner much interest in the draft. If your favorite NFL team drafts the Heisman winner you'll know it, but when the Golden Spike winner is taken in baseball no one knows who he is. The players also tend to have little to no immediate impact in the first few years unlike the other sports where they become instant starters. Its cool that they are showing it, but I highly doubt it will happen again when they see how poor the ratings are.

How long will A-Rod stay hot and do well in the clutch?

Well, I am happy that they could bust into their 24 hour poker coverage, and not with pool. But I will not watch.
