How to hit a slow pitch softball?
alright very tough takes timeBeing 17 I can recall my days of learning from my dad
Use a tennis ball for start and gently toss the ball to them so they can visual see it right in front of them
The yellow is also better on the eyes and less black eyes will occur
Also use two hands for starters***
Watch the ball into the glove and practice throwing the ball into their own glove squeezing and unsqueezing
hope that helps
start close just tossing the ball back and forth then everyother day start to get farther and farther sooner or later you will be far enough to start hitting the ball to him/her. start that a little close then start moving that farther and farther.
that should do it!
Whats the deal with ROGER CLEMENS?? Is he going to play this year??
Start slow, try it first with a tennis ball or some type of ball that won't injure your child. It is important to gain confidence. Don't throw the ball high, use the mitt and squeeze the ball. Once he has mastered the small stuff, hit a few off the bat. After that... start slow with a real baseball, and then eventually move to the bat. This is not an easy process, you must be patient and the child must gain confidence. He must feel the success in order to accomplish the task. Just tell him he WON'T GET HURT... NOBODY EVERY DIED BY CATCHING A FLY BALL. Tell him this is exactly how Derek Jeter started. Good LuckThis is another one of those "practice, practice, practice" things. You really just have to go out to the park and him him fly balls.
And "two hands" is not just for starters. If your kid catches every fly ball he ever handles with two hands, he'll be a better ballplayer for it.

well the most important thing you need to remember is that the kid won't learn over night. practice , practice , and more practice.I cannot find the video where Lou Piniella throws first base into the outfield, anyone have a link?
What you do is teach him to get under the ball then tell him to have his hand by the mit then when the ball goes in the mit to close the mit.hit him in the head he'll learn
5 things:
1) Teach him to use 1 hand and a small enough glove to manage. This gives mobility and the chance to make last second adjustments.
2) Use a tennis ball to start. It bounces and you can laugh when it hits him in the noggin.
3) When running for a fly ball or pop up, run on your toes. Your head bounces when heels hit making the ball do the same thing.
4) When he's under an easy one (tennis ball) have him practice catching the ball next to his glove side ear. As he gets better move to the nose. He'll be sure to keep his eyes on it and from that point of the catch it is easier to get into a throwing position afterwards.
5) Watch Baseball together on TV. They make it look easy and he can see how it should be done.
It'll take some time and some failure first but it's how we all learned.
The fact that he is trying should grab all your praise and regardless of result this is what he is probably most interested in.
