they are not taking steroids anymore, atleast most of the players. in the beginning of the 2001 season MLB finally instituted a no steroid/performance enhancing drug policy. since then, not more than 5% of the players in the MLB have tested positive. actually since then, less than 12 have tested positive.for a true steroid problem, visit the NFL. now that baseball has cracked down, they have by far the worst methods and policies for steroid use. many many many more former NFL players have admitted to using than baseball players.

It will take a while before the steriod testing and penalties have caught up with everyone. Once every player knows that if they do it, they're done, the game we love will be back. Not all baseball players take steroids, but the ones that do are taking away from the game. Baseball is supposed to pure, but things change when you get millions of dollars to play a game my 20 month old son can play. Yeah, he loves baseball already. To tell you the truth, i think the Players Union should agree to take drug tests periodically to screen them for steroids and other performance enhancers. Cheating has been around as long as there has been sports. Sure some players have recently been dicovered to have used steriods/HGH.whatever. But to think that players haven't always been looking for an edge is just naive. We are also learning that amphetimine (Greenies) use has been rampant since the 50 or 60- and continues still today. Some players have integrity some don't. We just here so much more about the law breakers now because reporters are now reporting it. People have always known about cheats, they just kept their mouths shut, reporters included.Will we ever see these Players play in the Majors again ?
