To answer your question is pitching with sunglasses on safe the answer is yes its extremely safe. Heres the thing were not talking about 5 dollar sunglasses you buy at wal mart but rather oakley or nike sunglasses that are costly but the protection and clarity is amazing. I have 6 pairs of oakleys I use 3 for sports. I have a set of oakley M Frames and half jakets XLJ ( i believe thats the proper letters) the lens colors are 2 black 1 of them is polarized and one lens is root beer. I wear my non stop for a couple or reasons when its windy your eyes are protected from dust or watever the wind picks up. Number 2 they will help you see in the sun but dont be fulled if its in the sun the best pair of oakleys wont keep you from losing it but you can look into the sun without hurting your eyes which may make the diffrence in you finding the ball or not. Oakleys are shatter proof I have destroyed my half frames and put them back toghoer and they were the same as when i bought them ( by broken i mean knocked out lens and broke the frame and it reassemble easily). You can see the ball the same if not better with sunglasses on I wear mine while I catch and bat or play anywhere in the field. The key is to keep a lens rag so when sweat gets on them you could wipe them off between innings. My sunglasses are used for casual wear, baseball, and shooting glasses and they have not scratched yet. I had a shell casing hit the lens and nothing happened other than i flinched. so yes their safe good luck.Sure. The only pitchers I can think of that wear sunglasses (or other kind of glasses) while pitching are Brendan Donnelly, Gustavo Chacin, and I think Gagne used to. I assume you mean that the danger from wearing sunglasses would be if you get hit by a line drive and they shatter...but I bet you could find some expensive shatter-proof sunglasses that will just fall apart if impacted. In any case, none of the pitchers I listed above ever got hurt from sunglasses.
Who, besides me, is loving the demise of the YANKEES?
