Did Roger Clemens out foxed himself when he really did have a chance to make history?

Question:Here was a guy who finally landed a job with the New York Yankees winning two world championships and getting major run support. Instead of staying with a good thing, he runs off to Houston with very little run support the entire time is was there. Now he wants to pay "Mr. Part Time" and pitch when he wants to. My point is this. How close would he be right now to 400 career wins if he just stayed with the Yankees and continued as a full time team member?

How do i throw faster in baseball, if any can some1 give me a web site that show how to throw some pitches??

Okay, he would have something in the region of 375-380 wins. Yes his ERA numbers were unreal, but that was in the NL Central. In the AL East, his ERA numbers would have been slightly higher, but his run support would have been frightening. RJ won 17 games last year with an ERA above 5. Meanwhile Clemens had less than half that ERA in his abbreviated season and 1.87 in a full season before that.

If he kept playing full seasons for Yankees, he would reach 400 sometime next season.

Why isn't there any crying in baseball?

personal opinion, but I think Roger has a butthole

Is it just me?

I don't think he would have been much closer to 400 then he is now. He played 2 full seasons with the Astros, and they were a World Series contender both those seasons, and he won 18 games one of those years, which is more than he won in NY in all but 1 season. He may still be a phenomenal pitcher, but I don't think his body can last for a full season. If he had played a full year last year, or this year, I think we would have seen a significant decline in his stats as the season came to an end.

Am I the only one here that doesn't want a juicehead to go down in history as the Home Run King??

I think so. He should have stayed with the Yankees instead of going to the Astros. I still think he's the greatest pitcher of all time though.

Baseball Rules?

very close, but Houston was his hometown and would you not want to be the one who took your hometown team to their first world series.

Is baseball a glorified form of a girl's game called rounders?

he would probably be about 10 games closer, for no other reason than run support...the yankees lineup would have scored plenty more runs for him than the astros did in his time there, and although he would have given up some more runs facing the more potent offenses in the american league there is no question that he would have had a few more victories and a few less no-decisions and 1-0 losses
