If they are prescribed, it is okay. You just can't keep using them after your prescription is done if they don't get re-prescribed.
Generally, when you are prescribed steroids, it's to make up for something that probably makes you sick enough or weak enough not to play well in the first place. I was given roids once (not anabolic) because I somehow got poison oak, ivy, and sumac on a trip to Maryland.
