I wanna be on the softball team for my new school...?
A very good question, and as of right now I really dont know one way or another. There are soo many things to think about at the early stage to decide if he will or wont.First, we need to look at how he has done so far. He has averaged about 35 homers a year, which is a decent average over a 12 year period. With his total of the first 12 years, it is safe to see he needs about 315 more homers(this is with numbers that end in the 2006 season)to know for sure he has the record, as this would put him in the 775 homer range. If he plays 10 years, counting this year he will have to average 31+ homers a year.
As he gets older his homer average will start to drop, plus their are the possibilities of injuries as well as dropping overall stats which could keep him out of a starters spot, thought it isnt not real likely to happen.
Also, most people on the lifetime home run list really had a drop off in average their last 3 years, by as much as half, and that could really effect over all performance.
Personally, if he stays healthy and on a good average for the next 6 years or so, like he is doing the last few years, he can easily allow the drop off in the twilight of his career and get what homers are left(IF their are any left) to break the record.
All things being equal I say he has a fair to good chance of doing it. I cant say I would bet money that he will make it, but at the same time I wouldnt bet money that he wont make it either.
What Time does The 'Opening Day' Thing for baseball end?
I believe he will break it, maybe even pass Bonds, considering how young he is and how good of a start he's been off to this year.Baseball game.. rows and sections turner field atlanta ga?
i hope not...HE'S A YANKEEI think barring any serious injuries, A-Rod is a lock to smash the all-time homerun record. This year he's going to become the youngest to reach 500 homeruns and he's only 277 homeruns behind Henry Aaron. If he continues his current pace, not only will he break Barry Bonds' single season record of 73 homeruns, he'll eventually break the all-time homerun plateau too. The only question is how many he'll have to hit, we're just waiting for Barry Bonds to set the new standard.
How much reaction time do you have on a 90mph Fastball?
I believe 95% of people think he'll break the all-time record, and I'm sure as hell in that group. Barring a career-ending injury, there's no way he doesn't break the record. Will the braves win the series against the mets right now 1-1?
he might but the press is prbly gunna go after him for steroids cuz people dont want bonds to beat the record and they prbly wont want a YANKEE to do it eitherHow much would such a baseball player be paid?
He has 478. Assume he averages 40 for the next 8 years until he is 40 yrs old. That gives him about 798. If he stays injury free and wants to play until he's 40, the record should be his.Who will the Florida Marlins replace Jorge Julio with if he doesn't improve?
Well before Bonds ever got close ever, people were talking about Griffey before he went to Cincy and ended up getting hurt every year since. So only time will tell.Is A Rod (Alex Rodriguez) on steroids? 2 more home runs tonight!?
I think he can. He has averaged 45 HRs a year since he came into the league and let's say conservatively he plays another 8 years and his average drops to 40 HR's...he would hit somewhere around 800 HR's, so yes, as I said, I believe he can do it. Oh, and I am not a Yankees fan either, just a baseball fan!Who are the pitchers for the Chicago White Sox?
Like Rodney Dangerfield used to say, "Ya gotta have health, Johnny". Jr. was poised to break Aaron's record, but since his 1st season in Cincinnati, when he played 145 games in 2000, he averaged only 92 games played per year in the 6 year period from '01 to '06. That pretty much destroyed any chance he had. Alex will have to stay healthy. If he does, then all other things being equal, he's got a pretty good shot.More Questions & Answers...
