Who is the best all around player in the National League?

Question:Tell me who you think is the best all around player in the National League, and a few reasons why.

Answers:

Are the Tiger's the ugliest team in baseball?

Jose Reyes is one of the best players in all of baseball, not just the national league. I think it's an honest toss up in the NL between him, Cabrera, and Soriano. Soriano loses out in fielding and average, but is a much better power hitter than the other two. Cabrera is the best average hitter of the three, and Reyes is the best fielder. Overall, he bats for a good average, can run, and field. He doesn't hit for power though.

Overall, I'd say Vlad might be the best player in all of MLB. He doesn't steal as much anymore, but that has been a managerial decision rather than a reflection on his ability. He's got a gun for an arm, hits for average, and hits for power.

In the NL, I'd go with Reyes, barely edging out Soriano and Cabrera.

My son's starting PeeWee baseball this year...bats?

Pujols is still the best even with his slow start. Throughout his career he has played Gold Glove caliber defense and has hit .330 with 40 homers and 125 RBI a year. Easily the best player followed by Andrew Jones.

Do you think Barry Bonds deserves the homerun title?

I would have to go with Albert Pujols. He generally hits for a high batting average, but he also hits for power. He also gets hits in important situations when his team needs him. Defensively, he is one of the better fielding first basemen in the NL. Also, for a slugger; he strikesout relatively few times.

Has anyone ever watched a baseball and turned down the sound to listen to the radio.?

Right now I would agree on Pujols...but look out for the "kid" in Milwaukee, Prince Fielder. He is going to be around this discussion for a long time to come.

Im going 2 go 2 the Dodger/Angel game im going 2 meet the angels should i take Dodger gear(ima dodger fan)?

Toss up between Pujos and Reyes

How much do you dislike Barry Bonds if you caught his record setting..?

Derrek Lee of the Cubs. He is the best defensive first baseman in the league - and one of the most clutch hitters around too. Look what happened to the Cubs last year when he did not play. As a White Sox fan - even I have to stand up and say that Lee is the best player in the NL.

How did all of you guys over look Beltran? He gives you numbers across the board.

Who did Sammy Sosa hit his 500th Homerun off of?

I dont see how you can answer anything but Albert Pujols. He is a force at the plate and plays outstanding defense. People forget he was also an above average left fielder and a remarkable third basemen to start his career. And, although his stolen bases dont reflect this, he is one of the smartest baserunners in the league (along with Jason Varitek of the Sox). You will never see him run into an out.

Who was better in their prime Babe Ruth or Willie Mays?

even though he isnt in the NL definitely JOE MAUER!
