Question:he's def had one of the best starts in AL history

Answers:

Should John Smoltz be in the Hall of Fame?

He's well on pace and is definitely the front runner. Still a lot of baseball left.

Who has the record for the highest batting average over one season?

If he keeps producing to get to about 50 Hr's and 140 RBI he should be the top candidate.

Why aren't the Cardinals and Royals playing an interleague series this weekend in Major League Baseball?

He has had an awesome start but you don't win MVP for an awesome April, if he can keep up this torrid pace all year then he is a lock but most likely its going to go to a player with good consistant numbers all year and a-rod generally fizzles out about 3/4 through the season

It if possible for a baseball batter to hit the ceiling of a cover baseball park?

Alex Rodriguez will NOT win the award. Big Papi(David ortiz) will. A Rod will start striking out and making a bunch of errors like last season while David Ortiz will have another great season.

Opinions on my first fantasy baseball team?

no doubt
on espn
he is projected to hit 99 homeruns and 239 rbi's with 225 hits 50 doubles and a .352 batting average.
we doubt he;; do that but
60 homeuns is a must
bating average is okay
and hits should be around 200
rbi's can be 170

Who is the best baseball player of all time?

His start just makes him Mr. April. If he can keep up his pace, and the Yankees get better as a team, he will win.

I am new to fantasy baseball, how do I go about winning my pool with the guys at work ?

I dont think he will do it. I think something will happen to him. He probably just had a good month thats all. Notice he hasnt been hitting a homer every day anymore. I think he will be Captin Golden Sumbrero once again haha.

When will Barry break Hank Aaron's home run record?

He might...he might not. I'm positive of one thing though--that guy is going to get out of New York City as quick as he possibly can after this year. He wants out--everyone knows it. He will finish his career somewhere on the WestCoast. And as far as the David Ortiz comment by another poster...forget it. A.L. MVP will come out of the Central this year...again.

Is anyone else pumped for Red Sox V. Yanks tonite??

Yes, he has had a great April, but he will not be able to keep this pace for the rest of the season. I think he is in a slump already.

Another thing to consider is how the Yankees finish the season. Will they make it to the playoffs? Or finish in second or third place. Yankees pitching doesn't look to promising this year. The rookies pitchers need more time to become
capable players. I think next year the Yankees will have a better shot to make the playoffs. But I don't think A-Rod will be part of 2008 Yankees. But he probably will win MVP for 2008.

People talk about A-Rod being the greatest player in baseball, and he well may be, but he has not been a clutch player for the Yankees. Maybe he tries too hard to always hit a home run I'm not really sure what happens especially in playoff games.
