Knowing where to go with the ball in every situation before it happens, good communication, good angles to cut off the baseball, no hesitation, throws on a line at the cut-off, no back-pedelling, get behind the ball so your momentum is heading inthe direction of your target. Are the twins world series caliber?
Top 3 defensive skills for outfielders:1. Judging/Catching ball properly. Routine flies get to the spot and catch ball coming forward to get most on the throw.
2. Throwing accurately. Quickly getting throw away, and on target to the bases or the cut-off man. Arm strength is important but, if runner sees you get ball away quickly and on target, he'll hold.
3. Range. Not just speed, but ability to cover a lot of area.
When the top 3 outfielders are determined, the centerfielder should have the best range, the right fielder should have the strongest and most accurate arm.
