Would players of old days compete in todays games?

Question:if ther was a time machine to bring past figures to the present would babe ruth, honus wagner, walter johnson and other former greats dominate as they did when they played?
(personal opinion question)

Answers:

Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds...??

Because of the way society has improved the quality of life in every way from better travel, better nutrtion and Baseballs being made from cow hide instead of horse hide a argument can be made on yes and no. In my opinion I feel that todays players have it easier because of more teams we have today.
Babe Ruth and Honus Wagner, Cy Young(etc) were great players in any era. But they all did it on natraul talent and not the advantage of easier travel, better supplements and training. I feel that these players would have had less impact into todays game because they played in an era of natrual talent and not enhanced competition.

Anyone ever seen a bunt home run?

No, because new pitches have been introduce and pitching has become better. But that's no excuse for the current hitters because the hitters have also become better

Any forcasts for the Chicago cubs this year. They are heating up!?

i don't know. if they didn't know about steroid scandals and how the fans have changed and even the game itself. also how the stadiums are right now. more than likely they would though.

I would like to know, if possible, what places David Ortiz's book signing tour will take him to next?

o hell yeah they had amazing talent in even compared to todays players.

Where is a great Message Board about MLB?

I think the hitters would completely benefit from having fences in all the parks, for one. They had to earn a lot of their homers where some parks had no fence or the fence was well over 400 feet out. I think the pitchers would have a hard time though, since there is such a wider variety of pitches now vs back in their time.

The big difference though, is back then, they had a lot of natural skill that had to be utilized to be a great player. This was before all the conditioning, supplements (legal and otherwise), weight training, etc. I think that, given a little coaching of the "current" technology, they could likely all succeed in today's MLB.

I just bought a Rawlings GGP series, is it a good glove and whats the best way to break it in?

No, and it's not because the pitchers or batters have gotten better. Hank Aaron would still crank it off Roger Clemens or someone else. The reason is how much the game has changed. The atmosphere of the crowd now was way more crazy and rowdier then people a long time ago. The other reason why is that the rules have changed since then. There is one tiny advantage that the old players had on the new, they were a ton more in shape then the players in the 2000's. If you look at Barry Bonds, he was so skinny back then and now he's a beast! One of the number one reasons why the players now are better is that there was lots of distractions back then. Like the black players, they had to go through so much crud because of their color!

Hoped you like!

Who lead the NL in batting average in 1995?

Wasn't the mound a good deal higher back then?

Players of yesteryear would not be able to tolerate today's stable of over paid cry-babies. I love baseball, but it is heading the way of boxing in America.
