He doesn't hustle, whether out in left field or on the base paths. He's the most selfish player in the game. He's widely unpopular, and that's within his ownhouse! The media dislikes him. Fans outside of Frisco hate him. Other players on other teams don't like him much either. Barry's definitely one of the top hitters(especially power) of all time. As an overall baseball player, there are lots of players that could be considered better than him. However, people who ignore how good he has been because he allegedly did steroids(something that hasn't actually been proven, and something that there wasn't a rule against until recently) and wish for him to be banned are completely off their rockers. As I've said in other posts on the subject, why don't you guys ask for Jason Giambi to be banned or have his numbers taken away? if u look at barry bonds's stats he is the all-time greatest player. With his MVP's and home runs stolen bases gold gloves and all of the other stats he is the best ever. Although it is likely he used steroids he has never failed a test like Rafael Palmero did so he can't be proved for cheating. How can you even think that Barry Bonds is the best player of all time? Babe Ruth had more home runs than alot of teams had. Plus Barry is selfish, will not listen to his team mates. No I do not. He is a great player before he was accused of taking steroids. Though it has never been proven it's obvious that he has taken performance-enhancing drugs, and that will taint his legacy. I think he would have hit between 550-600 homers but steroids and HGH added length to his career, along with inflated stats.

He is a very good baseball player who before his steriod use showed he had a very good chance for the Hall of Fame. Now, he is a horrible example of how screwed-up baseball has become. His records will always be shunned by the baseball fans who see how obvious his steroid use has produced the homerun record. The steroids did not make him a great hitter, he is a great hitter on his own. The steroids have made him much, much stronger and made it possible to play a longer career so he could reach this tainted record he will likely take away from one of the most respected and honest baseball players of all time, Hank Aaron. No. He might not even be the best player of his era. The 755+ homeruns and 500 stolen bases notwithstanding, he will never really be remember as being clutch, or hustling, or really anything but being selfish, and this does not even account for the steroid issue.
