Question:a ton of ppl. from my school are sayin mike lowell is in the top 5 in overall thirdbasemen in the MLB. (we do live in boston), but still hes not even close. i can name at least 10 other guys hu are better than mike lowell, but they just wont listen. they are rrly retarded. what do u think?

rolen is the #1 third basemen in the mlbThey're not retarded. He's definitely solid and proven. There are better so far this year but the season is young. If he's himself there are very few errors and a lot of great plays to come. I'd put him in the top five.

He's having a good start to this season, but he is not a Top 5 3B. Top 5 would include A-Rod, Cabrera, David Wright, Garrett Adkins and Aramis Ramirez. I think Chipper Jones and Rolen are above Lowell. Some of them are having slow starts this year, but the season is a lot longer than a few weeks, see where they all end up in the long haul...Which player holds the record for most strikeouts in a single playoff season? nope. theres plenty of better third basemen out there. a-rod, miguel cabrera, david wright, chipper jones, eric chavez, and hank blalock just to name a few. no specific order by the way. dont get me wrong though, lowell is a quality player at the plate and in the feild, although he's already had more errors this year than all of last year.What does the abrivation PPD mean in basaball?

Nowadays how can you tell definatively. People break out all these crazy stats to prove their guy is better thean someone elses. Mike Lowell is a really solid player. His bat may not be as powerful as it once was, but his average seems to be on the higher end of his career since coming to Boston. The thing he is recognized as is a gold glove defensive player, and so far this year he has 8 errors in 29 games, which is well on pace to be his highest number of errors in a season by far. He already has 2 more than last year, and that total was in 153 games. So right now, I'd have to say a pretty convincing no, that he is not in the top 5 3B in MLB.More Questions & Answers...
