This whole thing about the Yankees team salary is something that the media has used to portray them as the bad guys only when they win.George has always been a big spender dating all the way back to when he gave Reggie Jackson his big contract. This is nothing new.
I don't recall the media giving the Yankees a hard time when they spent money in the 80's and weren't that successful.

OH I love my NY Yankees, but watching them lose is just killing me. The loses are ok actually, but if they don't get up there in first place then they wont be in the playoffs or world series. That's the type of incoherent rant I'd expect.I understand the hurt person part, but what you must understand is that people have been waiting for a long time to catch the Yankees in the bottom of the pit. All the Yankee fans bash everyone else whenever they are winning and ahead.(When I say all I don't necessarily mean ALL, i mean 99% of em) We will savor this moment.
