Should Joe Torre be fired?
Question:
Answers:
He does need to motivate his players a little more during the season. Sometimes he relies too much on their ability and experience to lead themselves.
Name a pitcher, who in his 1st Major League @ bat hit a home run as a pinch hitter?
What are you crazy?, that would be like firing Tiger Woods in golf or Michael Jordon in basketball, he is probably only the greatest manager in baseball, he has forgotten more than most managers will ever know. Fire Joe Torre, what a buffoon. What MLB team hold the record for most wins in a season?
No. He has one more year left on his contract. He wont return after this year. Don Mattingly will take over next year. You can't blame Torre for the starting pitching. It's just "The Boss" trying to spark some fire in the players. The yankees that have been here for years love Torre and they wont let him get fired. Look for a Yankee win today.Twins or Red Sox? Who's going to win today?
He should quitDoes anyone else agree with me?
Yea boyBonds end his career as a yankee?!?!?!?
no...Cashman or ideally Steinbrenner should be (if he could be "fired")If the catcher throws the ball back over the pitcher's head, can the batter go to first?
What kind of question is that? Joe Torre's one of the greatest in baseball. He's patient, wins games, and can't be replaced by someone better. Imagine working for him instead of your own boss.I see your point, though. The Yankees haven't won the World Series for a while. (Who could replace him, though? Maybe Don Mattingly, but he couldn't be as great.)
Baseball- what do they mean when they say...?
No, not at all, just because his starters don't know how to get out of the fifth inning doesn't mean it's his fault, although I do think unfortunately if the Red Sox sweep the yankees again this weekend we won't see good ole' Joe on the bench anymore. Why does the NL Central have 6 teams while the AL West only has 4?
yes it's two years to late. What's ty cobbs career batting stats. vs. babe ruth's pitching?
He has only won 4 World Series titles! Let's get rid of him now!Who has the most walks in a MLB season and how many?
Everyone is going on the past and that he is a good guy.no denying that.he did and he is..mostly we are talking about the past.he lost my support in I think the fifth game of the Series with the Marlins..he should have squeezed bunted in a run with the bases loaded and Boone at the plate and "at the time" the best reliever in the world.Mariano Rivera warming up to close the game...then they could give up game 6 to Beckett and take the series to NY to win..he popped up and I don't remember what the next guy did.the lost #5 and 6 to lose the Series against a team that they should not have lost to...Torre has seen his time..but remember that "nice guys finish last" and that is where this guy is right now...really early, everyone will say..but not early enough ..at the least it should have happen last year...A RESOUNDING "YES" to your question!..sorry Yankee fans...but I do not think or feel that Mattingly is the right guy for the job..my choice would have been Pinella.but that is not going to happen!! GO YANKEES! STINKIN RED SOX!!Why do the Philadelphia Phillies have the worse Bull Pen in Base Ball?
No. It's not like the Yankees are cellar dwellers. Joe Torre isn't the GM he's just the manager. Back when the Yankees were starting to win again, they built their team from within, lately it seems that Steinbrenner and Cashman are building the team by throwing a lot of money at free agents, that doesn't seem to be working for them.Who are your PREDICTIONS for MVP, HR leader, and Cy Young for both leagues?
No, it is too early in the season and the Yankees are only 5 1/2 games behind at the end of April but he might be the scapegoat to be sacrificed to get a fire out of the players butts or it would be very difficult to catch Boston.I think he has a little time left and I am waiting to see what is going to happen when the DL gets shorter and see how they play.Do you think that I will have a future?
Joe Torre took this team as far as it's gonna go,He had his best yrs in the 90's and 2000,I lost SOME respect for Torre last yr in the playoffs, when he batted Arod in 8th,I felt Torre should have lost his job after the playoffs,Don't get me wrong he's a GREAT guy,But it's time for a change! My pick to take the helm, would be Joe Girardi he should be the next Manager,What he did last yr with the Marlins was unbelivable! He would make a great Manager!
NO!!!!!!! He didn't decimate his pitching staff!! I am a Red Sox fan, and I think Torre is doing the best job possible given the injuries to his starting rotation of pitchers. Give the guy a break!!
Chow!!
