Let's point out something, Zito is not neccesarily the most overrater pitcher in baseball but he is by far the most inconsistent. When Zito's curve is 100% he is as dominant as Santana. When its not I think Fidel Castro NOW has a better chance of not giving up a homer.I went to an A's-Yankees game a few years ago when Zito was pitching and his curve was off. The result was the Yankees batting around in both of the first two innings and Zito giving up 9 earned runs on 4 dingers.

He is definitly overpaid, he has really good stuff but I think he needs a catcher that calls pitches for him. Put him with like a varitek or some other catcher who understands how to call a game and he would be closer to being worth what he got paid.Yes. And then some.

What's to judge about Zito? So what if he is overpaid.. He'll go to who pays the most. Anyone would take the highest bid anyways. Don't tell me you would not take a high paying job if it was offered..So what about his w/l record anyways? He's getting paid guaranteed salary and even if he gets more losses than wins, they cannot withdraw that contract. The team is stuck with him, win or lose..
