How many ways can a player reach 1st base?

This is exactly why I think Bonds deserves the homerun record and deserves the Hall of Fame. As far as I know there isn't any evidence that Ripken took anything, but it's hard to believe that alot of guys in the 80s and 90s weren't on something.

Ripken was never caught with anything, Bonds has never been caught with anything (other than his name being linked with some bad dudes), so I am just fine with what he's doing now (and Ripken playing all those games in a row).

I liked how you put this question. Can't wait to see what the haters have to say.

Softball HELP!!?

I have never gone out of my way to differ with another individual on a point of view on this site before, but there is a first time for everything.

How can you even begin to make that claim? Did you SEE Cal take amphetamines, or are you simply speculating because taking them would have been YOUR choice if you were in his situation? There are enough accusations without manufacturing types like these. I could make a very long list of the people whom you have offended by this type of remark, but I will keep it real short: The Ripken family who has done more for the game of baseball than about any other family of which I can think, Cal personally, the city of Baltimore, The Baltimore Orioles Baseball Club, Major League Baseball, and the millions of fans who look up to people like Cal Ripken for all the good he has done for the game. I can't believe I am even responding to this tripe, but at the same time, someone needs to call you out, and it might as well be me. Get a life.

Why do the Yankees not put Names on their Jersey?

He didn't have the batting AVG of someone who took performance enhancing drugs..

But he sure could wheel and deal that ball to get those outs.

Gehrigs 340 batting avg
and life time 447 on base %
are in no danger by cal ripken

Pitchers duel vs. total blowout?

I honestly think that no matter what era in baseball you refer there will always be questions surrounding that era and whether or not an asterisk should be by any particular record-holder's name. In Babe Ruth's (and, coincidentally, Lou Gehrig's) era, the talent pool was very limited with the exclusion of minorities. Pete Rose, Willie Mays and Hank Aaron all have admitted to taking 'greenies,' which are a form of amphetemines, which are illegal in today's game. The most tragic aspect of the Steroids Era is that anyone and everyone has the potential to be labeled a cheater, including the good guys like Cal Ripken Jr, Tony Gwynn, Kirby Puckett, etc. and many times without any justification. Anyone who played in the Steroid Era will have that cloud of suspicion surrounding them, whether or not it is justified.

Pitching Question?

those were the times. i think you are being fallacious but it's gonna spark a huge argument like the bonds argument. records are made to be broken, the style of the game is always changing. sometimes for the better, sometimes for worse. it's just how the game is and i love it for that.

The Catching Position in Baseball?

No, you just want to sling mud on anyone and everyone possible, while completely ignoring the libel laws.

Show us your proof. I double dare you.

How much does Ichiro make?

I don't recall him gaining 75 pounds for his head growing twice he normal size for his shoe size jumping from a size 10 to 13.5. Mike Schmidt already admitted to it on ESPN several months ago. He said many people took "greenies" during their careers because of the wear and tear of traveling and playing day games after night games. Point is too many issues have connected themselves to Bonds. Look at Sosa and McGwire and how big they got as well. I think both situations are wrong but it's almost impossible to point fingers at anyone anymore!!
