I live in MN today at a softball game things got a little heated my father in law and a umpire nose 2 nose?
Question:The umpire came into where the fans are and was in my father in laws face now may father inlaw wasn't being very nice but came on. My father in law is 60 years old and this umpire was probley around 40. I thought the umpire should be the bigger man in this situation?

Personally I think that your Father-In-Law may have overreacted to something because when I think of a 60 year old, they tend not to lose their temper as much as anyone who is younger. But the unpire should not be yelling back, he should be focused on the game and ignoring the fact that someone is yelling at him. I think it is a little bit of both of their faults for letting it go that far.The Umpire is there to officiate the game. ---A game played by the players. And yet people in the stands think he's there to be abused. Your father in-law should get a life and shut up.
I play, coach and officiate sports. people who give officials grief don't have enough sack to officiate themselves.
Tell your father in-law to take an umpire course if he thinks he can do a better job.
He won't do it.he does not have the guts.
