Question:why hasnt the NL ever adopted the DH rule who wants to see pitchers looking like fools at the plate or even getting hurt?

Answers:

Do people in Brooklyn still want the Dodgers to come back?

two national league owners voted agaisnt it. the vote was hold when the a.l and n.l were seperated with two preseidents. the DH is bad for the game anyway its made the A.L playstation its in the A.L were there was alot of steroids partualy do to the DH. itsfunner to see the N.L game their is bunting and running. the A.L. you just wait for the homerun its so boring they just stand out there in the bases waiting for the homerun i hate the DH. the DH also increases bean balls because pitchers are not afraid to get hit themeselves so they go out there hunting heads.

Did the red sox uniforms change?

cuz the NL is on crack..well i actually find it amusing to see a pitcher strike out especially Carlos Zambrano

What did you think of the Frank Thomas pillow fight commercial?

cuz it is funny and actually sometimes they make a difference up there wanting to help their own cause;
Dontrelle Willis hit a grand slam
Bronson Arroyo hit two out in his first two games last year (won both)
Josh Beckett; helped his own cause by hitting one out against the marlins, i beleive he also hit an rbi double..

What is Green Day's newest song?

that's what makes the two leagues different.

I would change interleague play by having the DH in NL staduiums and pitchers bat in AL stadiums. This would give the home crowd a different look at the game.

Was the St. Louis Cardinals vs Memphis Redbirds baseball game on March 30 televised, nationally or locally?

Because the DH rule doesn't belong in Major League Baseball at all. It taints the American League, so why should it infest the National League too? It was never a good idea. It should be abolished altogether.

I have a 1993 topps chrome derek jeter #98 anyone have an idea how much its worth?

Its one of the things that differenciates NL from AL and some pitchers love to hit. John Smoltz and Tom Glavine for instance. They love it. And yes, they do risk getting hurt, but it makes it more exciting (Remember that these guys always hit in high school and college ball-they grew up doing it). I prefer NL because they Don't have the DH. And its funny to see AL pitchers try to hit in interleague play.

Why is the press trying to drive a wedge between whites and blacks with respect to Barry Bonds homerun chase?

The reason is when the leaugues broke up into AL and NL many years ago the comissinor and assistant commisioner a the time had different ideas on what to do with pitchers so they desided to split up. And because of this the NL will never have a DH

Who thinks the Cubs will og all the way?

I don't think the NL needs it,it's nice to see a little difference between the leagues. There really isn't that much that is different anymore since they added interleague play.

Who is a Yankee fan?

that's what makes the two leagues different.

I would change interleague play by having the DH in NL staduiums and pitchers bat in AL stadiums. This would give the home crowd a different look at the game.

Why go graves face west and east?

Because their owners are too stubborn to see the error of their ways.

The interesting this here is that the DH was first proposed in the NL in 1928

Someone needs to relearn their baseball history. The NL dates back to 1876 and the AL to 1901. There was no such thing as a commissioner until 1920. The DH was first used in 1973.

Giants fans...?

Granted, most pitchers can't hit worth a damn, but having the pitcher in the batting order makes strategy an important part of the game in the NL.

As a manager, what do you do when your starter has gone 7 strong innings, trails 1-0, and is up to bat with two outs and a runner in scoring position? Managers in the AL never have to make this sort of decision (except in interleague play and the WS).

There's no specific reason as to why the NL has never gone to the DH, just as there's no one reason as to why the AL continues to play the position. That's just the way it is.
