Well what position are you playing?? Here's some general tips, I'm a center fielder so take it for what it is I guess.Ground balls there's 2 important factors to focus on, how fast is the ball rolling and in what direction. With that being said be aware of your surroundings i.e. men on base, how many outs, score yadda yadda. You'll have to adjust your speed to the roll of the ball but always make sure you know in what direction the ball is going first so that you may cleanly put it in your glove and square away to make a accurate throw.
Same pretty much goes for fly balls, know your conditions, weather, light, grass conditions, familiarize yourself with your environment and make sure you give yourself enough room to make the play, remember it's always better to overjudge a fly ball and have to run up on it then to underjudge a ball and have to run back to hopefully grab it. Great fielding is all about practice. Bend you knees, and be able to shift, run, and jump quickly to get to the ball. Practice sprints and jumping to get better.
