you have to tag up but as soon as the fielder touches the ball is ok to run, if you leave before the fielder touches the ball you may be called out for leaving the bag early, depends on the play situationAs soon as the feilder touches the ball, if it is a fly ball to the outfield, otherwise the infield fly rule applys. If it is a ground ball you do not have to tag up.
