What was the NY Yankees longest losing streak?

I attended the two Orioles home games in the 1997 divisional playoff series vs the Mariners. I was a freshmen in high school at the time, but I remember their was a huge buzz all over school, and pretty much anywhere you went within the state of Maryland about the fact that the O's where in the playoffs, thus the chance of having another world series championship added to the Orioles collection.

The first game I went with my father and my best friend. My father worked for the Baltimore City fire department, and one of the firehouses we wound up visiting before the game (my father loves an opportunity to catch up with his friends and collegues), wound up sending faxes back and fourth with a fire station in Seattle.

Basically it was just light-hearted trash talk from a bunch of Seattle fire-fighters and a bunch of Baltimore fire-fighters, sending over newspaper articles of of the Mariners beating the Orioles in the regular season and vise versa, getting to know the all-stars on each team :), etc.

That was a fun time, but then we walked our way to the ballpark. Man it takes a special regular season game like say Cal's 2131 game to match the enthusiaum of a playoff game. The crowd was electric, the stadium was packed, traffic was HEAVY. You just couldn't match the excitement in the air on Eutaw St.

I remember our seats where in the upperdeck, but it was a great view none-the-less. It was a bit of a downer, I don't remember much about the actual game itself other than the Orioles lost 3-1. Still the Orioles where up 2-1 in the series though, hope wasn't all lost yet.

The next evening I was back having tickets with my cousin Mike. It was a GOOD pitching match-up, Mike Mussina vs. Randy Johnson. Same great seats from the upperdeck, but this time the view was even better because the Orioles where winning. Yes on that night Mussina outpitched Johnson, the Orioles won and they where headed to the ALCS.

I remember walking back out on Eutaw St with fans screaming "Bring on the Yankees!" Well that didn't happen, Cleveland spoiled the party for New York, and then the Orioles before losing to Florida in the world series. None the less the Orioles playoff games I attended, I personally I don't think I can top them just yet.

It was the first time I had ever seen a grand slam in person. I was sitting with some friends of mine a few rows up in a section along the third base line. Lopez drills a shot that sails out right field. Reds went on to win 10-1.

Which players wore the number 42 honoring jackie robinson on jackie robinson day, April 15, 2007?

April 23, 1989 at old Exhibition Stadium in Toronto. Nolan Ryan vs Todd Stottlemyre. Ryan went to 1 out in the 9th before giving up a hit. That's still the closest I've come to being in the park for a no-hitter, although I've seen 3 on television.
