They definately bring A LOT!!

I went to this Louisville Slugger thing on MLB Fanfest 2006 at the convention center in Pittsburgh and they were making bats. They said that they usually make about 500 or so per position player for the upcoming season. That means that at most, a player switches bats every other at-bat. Based on this, I estimate that they bring about 10-15 per position player, 4-5 per starting pitcher, so thats about 160-235 bats a team takes on the road.
