Simple inning three infield hits , two pickoffs, two more infield hits then fair batted ball strikes runner before it passes an infielder (pitcher not included). That is scored a base hit but no runners preceding the runner the ball struck may advance on the interference. In baseball..what is an automatic ball.and what is a pitchout?
caught stealingRunners getting picked off the basepaths.
The same way they did it when this Q popped up a couple weeks ago.
First batter singles (or doubles, or triples -- for the first two it doesn't matter) but gets picked off or caught stealing. One out.
Second batter does the same (stupid) thing. Two outs.
Third batter singles.
Fourth batter singles.
Fifth batter singles. Bases now loaded.
Sixth batter hits a ball in the infield which hits one of his runner teammates (most likely either the runner from first or from second) before an infielder in position to make a play (in the judgment of the umpire) has the chance to make that play. Runner is called out, batter is credited a single, no runners ahead of the ball-hit runner advance, three outs, inning over, no runs scored, three men left on.
Yes, really.

By playing station-to-station ball and getting either picked off or caught steeling. Yes, it's possible to make every out of an inning on the basepaths.Basically, such a team simply can't run the bases.
