If you were to build a cricket stadium (or baseball) that had a dome or was covered in some way?

Question:How high would the dome or roof have to be to avoid being ever hit by the ball? In other words, how high can a ball be hit? 300 ft?

There are a few baseball satdiums already with domes. These include Minute Maid Park, The Metrodome, Tropicana Field, and the Astrodome. All these ball oarks have a roof covering the whol field. There are occasions when the ball does get caught in the rafters but rarely ever happens.

It goes on deck, in the whole, in the parking lot, then what?

So, I guess according to Troys answer, 200 feet would be about right for a baseball stadium. I cant see how you would need a roof like that for cricket. Crickets just cant jump that high. (just kidding)

What would you do for a chicago cubs world series?

Generally, the highest a ball will be hit in baseball is 125 feet on a high popup. Allowing for the roof structure, lights, etc, the roof probably needs to be abut 175 feet. In the limited cricket matches I've watched, I've never seen a ball hit that high, so I imagine the roof could be lower
