What is the difference between Latin American baseball stadiums and United States stadiums?
EARNED RUNSyou take the pitchers earned runs and times it by 9. then divide that number by the number of innings the pitcher pitched.
example: pitcher- 2 earned runs, 7 innings
2 x 9 = 18. 18/7 = 2.57 ERA
BATTING AVERAGE
you take the number of at bats divided by hits
Example: 100 at bats 34 hits
34/100 = .340 Batting Average
Will the cardinals battle back to winning after their teamates death?
ERA = earned runs / innings pitched *9BA = hits / at bats
Not every plate appearance is an at bat. Subtract PA's that end with a walk, HBP, sac bunt, sac fly or reaching on catcher's interference.

Who's the best team in the MLB this year?...or the team that you think will go all the way.?
Here's how I calculate batting averages:Step 1: Divide the number of at bats into 1. Example: 75 ABs, into 1 is .0133.
Step Two: Multiply the number you get by the number of hits. Example: 25 hits would be .333 batting average.
But, you can also divide the number of AB into hits, and you will get a batting average. Both ways work.
ERA- earned runs per 9 innings pitched. If a pitcher pitches 1 inning and lets up 1 run, his era is 9. If he pitches 9 and lets up 1 run, his era is 1. 3 runs in 6 innings is a 4.5 era.
Batting avg. is a little different, it's just hits divided by at bats. It's just a percentage. a .300 hitter is getting a hit 30% of the time that he bats. Good luck
