Wut do you think of Dice-K?
Question:is he the real deal? and Y do we have to bring anthlets from other countries to feel our possitions?
Answers:
Who would you say the most exciting player in all of Major League Baseball is?
Yeah hes the real deal, but he's not worth that kind of money... ;)Why is Alex Rodriguez cooling down?
not worth the money they paid!Brotherly love? Brothers in the mlb?
Spell check please. He will turn out to be a decent 3rd or 4th starter for the Sox and will probably go down as the most overpaid pitcher in recent history. I mean, they spent a *-ton of money for a dude who puts up 4+ ER's a night. No thanks.
Who was better in their prime Babe Ruth or Willie Mays?
The jury is still out and will be for a few years. Its tough to say he isn't worth the money after 6 weeks. He has had some good starts and rough starts so far.If he averages 16-18 wins over the next 6 years, 180K and an ERA under 4.00, the $100 million will be a bargain.
He is only 26 and they have him for 5-6 years.I'd much rather spend the $100 million it cost for him than $21 million for 4 months of a 44-45 year old pitcher.

I'll also answer the second part of your question regarding international athletes. All sports teams have an obligation to their city, their fans, and their profits to field the best team possible. It a pitcher from Korea or Japan, a basketball player from China, a shortstop from the Dominican Republic can outperform a US player - why wouldn't you want them? It stinks of elitism if you only want "American" players on your teams.
Are the Rockies going to do good this year?
He is no Josh Beckett. but could be a number 2 starter next year. cause pitcher over in Japan are better trained and groomed to be goodWhy in baseball is a strike recorded with a "K"?
I think he only gets $9 mil/year(the rest went to his previous team), so I'd say he's definitely worth the money. He's only 26 years old, so he is yet to come into his prime. He IS a rookie at this level of competition, so he's still getting adjusted.Ichiro and H. Matsui were the best in Japan at their respective specialty(.ave hitter/power hitter) and they have lived up to their worth. In short, Dice-K has been good, and we can only expect him to get better.
IT WAS A PREEMPTIVE STRIKE, THEY DIDN'T WANT THE YANKS TO GET HIM!
What brand of bat does David Wright use?
he's off to a strong start but then again the first few teams he played weren't worth a dime.he's been knocked around when facing the al east teams. i still say he goes for 12 to 15 wins with a low 4 era.
but he's solid. wouldn't call him the best pitcher in the bigs just yet but he's been very solid. worth the money isn't for me to debate because i'm neither theo epstine nor am i a sox's fan.
He'll get better but man they spent alot of money on him, But they did keep him away from the Yanks
Who is considered to be the best to ever play the game of baseball?
he's ok but will not last long. He is not the real deal. He's far from being it. They brought him because Boston thought that nobody was good enough. Well bottom line is Boston are dumb. They wasted a lot lot lot of money for nothing. They got pretty good pitchers in the minor league. They have been waiting for a long time to get there chance in the big league. What does Boston do waste money. What is a 'simulated game' in baseball?
A major waste of money. You can say the same about JD (I'll never play in Philadelphia) Drew too.How do you throw a 12-6 curveball?
Let's see...He beat the last place Royals.
He beat a Toronto team that had not won a game in two weeks.
He beat my Yankees twice but gave up 10 runs in 13 innings.
He got tattooed by Seattle 7 runs in 5 innings.
He did have a good start against a good Detroit team.
Overall. I'm not that impressed him and his 4.17 era.
Are the phillies the biggesty bust in the league already? what will their record be? playoffs?
Look, he has been in the U S only three months. In his adjustment period he is winning at the major league level. He isn't familiar or comfortable with English. His family and most 'support system people' are still in Japan. He has allowed two earned runs in his last 17 innings. His last start was a complete game victory with one earned run against a very good hitting Tigers team . His upside potential is wonderful. He is right now worth the price paid and he will be considered a bargain in three or so years.Who do you think is the best on the mets?
While I think it is too early to tell, I do think he will turn out to be the real deal and well worth the money. he is already 5-2 with an ERA around 4 and dropping. He coud easily be 7-0 but due to low run support, 1 run combined between 2 loses, he has the two loses. He has 52 strikeout whihc ranks him at 5th in the league just , he is second in the league in wins, he is seventh in innings pitched. Also, watch him and you can tell he has nasty stuff and will be domnant soon. He just threw a complete game with 1 earned run against the Tigers who are a very good offense. Hehas also thrown two 10 K games already. His numbers are right up there with Santana, Beckett, and Halladay and he is still adjusting to a very different game. I think there is no doubt Dice-K will be the real deal very soon.He is the real deal in the sense that he can pitch well, has the work ethic to really push himself, and he has passion about what he does. Look at the number of strikeouts he has. You can't get those numbers without having talent. But he has to find his consistency in the MLB. When/if he can do that he could pan out to be a staff ace. But that is the $103m question now, isn't it.
What does everyone have against A-rod?
He is the REAL deal. Now that so many firsts have gone by him and now that the media attention has slowed down a bit, Dice-K is pitching as well as we all expected. His record is 5 wins, two losses, and he has won his last FOUR decisions. You will see great things from him before this season is over, and I wouldn't be surprised if he won 20 games. He will be among the elite of the league.Chow!!
Is it possible to hit the cover off a baseball?
Hes the shiznit. We bring them because they are better than some of the players here.Where can i find Atlanta Braves cursors for myspace?
It's still too early to tell. He's a new toy in the league, but some of the other teams will figure him out soon enough. If he can adjust to their adjustments, he's going to be a solid player in the long run.As far as the international players are concerned, there are plenty of US baseball players who are playing in Japan. Also, Italy and Spain are constantly scooping up solid college basketball players to compete in their leagues. If you're good enough to play with the best, then you deserve to play with the best no matter what country you're from.
They could have spent less money and gotten Gil Meche in the offseason and had the same if not better results.
Are there any white sox fans out there that go to the games that can tell me?
Well if you ask me, He has done just about as good as you could imagine a person coming to a different country, playing a game in a different language, with different customs would do. He progresses every start, and everyday he is around the game. I think he is a perfect fit in Boston, where Schilling can teach him about the game, and V-Tek can call an amazing game for him without him having to be the savior of the team. The point is that he is doing his job. He never had to come here and be lights out, and I don't think the Red Sox expected that. They wanted Dice-K to come here, be a 3rd to 4th starter, and be a good pitcher for five to six years. I am sure the expectations will grow in the next couple of years, and I think he will be able to achieve them. Right now, all he can do is do what he is doing already. Pitch, learn, and have fun. Dice-k is the best pitcher to watch. he gives up a hit, and you can't even tell, I love his facial expressions. He knows how to play the game, and he will be a great pitcher for years to come. With Schilling getting older, he will move up in the rotation, and be around longer than some other pitchers that sign $28 million dollar contracts and only help a team for a few months. Bottom line: Good pick up by the Sox.More Questions & Answers...
