Question:They have a great pitching rotation so far, despite Wade miller. I know their bullpen isn't great, but its not bad. Their offense is outstanding, so do think they'll go all the way, why and why not.
And please don't give me any of that billy goat curse crap. No, saying "the cubs suck they have no chance, or anything like that"

I think that it is too early to tell if they are going all the way. Maybe if this was middle of the season i would be able to answer, but as it looks like now, prolly not. If they can get Alfonso Soriano back to what he does best, and they can get their bullpen to help out a lot more, then they will atleast make it to the playoffs. Rich Hill is doing great for their starting lineup, and if they can just get more guys like him to help with pitching, then they will make it to playoffs.I don't think they will go all the way and by mid-season, the usual "Oh, we'll be good next year" saying will be out again. Sorry, the cubs just don't have it. When will "next year" come for the poor cubs fans?

Half the city of Chicago believes the Cubs will go all the way this year.Why? Because that's what they believe every year and short of God himself coming to earth and telling the world that the Cubs will not go all the way, there's nothing that anyone can do or say that will change the Cub diehards' minds. Even if they are mathmatically eliminated, some fans still think they have a chance - that's just the way it is.
They have the offensive potential, and the rotation looks pretty decent. However, the bullpen is a big question mark and consistency seems to be a major challenge for everyone who calls the Friendly Confines home. If I were a betting man, I'd want at least 40-1 right now before taking the Cubs in the WS.
But hey, at least they're not in last place.

They do not have a great pitching staff. They have an average starting staff, and a below average relief corp.
They do not have a great offense. Too many power guys. They will score a lot of runs one day, and none the next.
They are not cursed, but have not won in almost 100 years, so to say they will would be foolish.
They would have to meet the Mets, Braves, or Dodgers - or a combination in the playoffs. These three teams are all better than the Cubs.
And most important - they are not the best team in their division.
No postseason this year again.

I'm a big cubs fan and I honestly dont think we will win. This may not be the norm but I honestly feel the fans are the reason we have become the friendly loosers across baseball. I mean we have all the right stuff a championship team needs: good pitching, defense, potential for a great linup in the box and a great noted manager, however, us fans dont get on there *** enouph when we blow a 5 run lead etc. Do you think this would stand in NY? Think not, but as everyone says... its just those "loveable cubbies."
