South DakotaWhy do pitchers in baseball use resin?
If you're counting all MLB ballplayers in history, then the states with the fewest are Alaska (9), Wyoming (12), and North Dakota (15). Hawaii has produced 36 players, which would only put it in 8th place.Of current players, Wyoming, New Mexico, Montana, Vermont, Idaho and the District of Columbia have each produced only one.
Consider that Hawaii is warm all year around, it can be a breeding ground to find baseball players when you can play outside under practically the same weather conditions on January 10th as you could on August 10th. All though Hawaii has a much bigger passion for football, I'm not surprised that it has produced some pro-ball players.
I would have to say as far as states go, that Jeremy hit the nail on the head with his answer to this question.
